Isn't it pretty?
I went to a "Japanese Culture Day" event at National Atomic Testing Museum
and Japanese calligraphy or shodo teacher wrote, painted?, this for me.
I tried shodo too. Actually I forgot how to do it...
They had a tea ceremony demonstration too.
It was very beautiful...
And the teacher was American. Wow!!
Then I met Taiko drum guys.
They will play taiko drum for our class in the fall semester. Yeah!
She was a very charming woman.
This event was organized by JASN. remembering 70 years of Peace, 70 years since the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombing.
Thank you for a wonderful experience...
These are origami cranes.
I forgot how to make it, but eventually I remembered and made about 10 of them.
We have a custom to make one thousand of them, link them together and send it to Hiroshima.
You can imagine easily how hard making one thousand of those!
Each crane is full of love, condolence, and sympathy for victims of atomic bombing...
Maybe we can help them a little bit making one thousand of them in 'JAPAN!" class next summer!
